Terminal wire processing test standard

With the continuous increase of electronic products, there is an increasing demand for terminal wires in the market. The crimping process of terminal wires is the most important link in the harness manufacturing process, so it is particularly important to check the quality of this link. On the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the management of the mold, on the other hand, it is necessary to train the equipment debugging personnel, the crimping personnel and strengthen the patrol inspection of the on-site crimping process. The following is a brief introduction to the terminal crimping test standards.

1 Terminal crimping size and appearance requirements

1)  Inspect the peeling length, wire length and core wire damage according to the preparation of wire in the engineering drawing.

2)  Inspection of conductor crimping area.

  • There is no significant difference between the crimping height, width and crimping shape and the sample.

  • The tensile strength can be checked according to the terminal tension parameters

  • The crimping part must be completely closed and wrapped around the outer cover of the wire.

  • The rear horn of the functional area must be visible.

  • The ends of the conductor must be flush and extend beyond the crimping area.

2、 Test tool: tension tester

  • Take the standard wire about 50cm long, and strip one end correctly according to the tested terminal.

  • Crimp the terminal and wire firmly with correct tools and methods, fix the terminal part on the fixed base end of the tensile machine, fix the wire end on the fixed base end of the tensile machine, and fix the wire end on the movable base of the tensile machine.

  • Start the tensile testing machine until the terminals and wires fall away.

  • Observe the maximum tension value displayed on the instrument panel of the tension machine and compare it with the standard to determine whether the test is successful.

  • The same test shall be conducted for more than 5 consecutive times, and all the tests shall be deemed as qualified if they are successful.
