Dual-Head Crimping and Single-Head Housing Insertion System

This fully automatic dual-head crimping and single-head housing insertion system integrates wire cutting, stripping, dual-end terminal crimping and automatic insertion of one end into connector housings fed by a vibrating plate. The system supports optional ultrasonic welding for specific housings.

The machine supports 2–8 colors of wires entering simultaneously (customizable), with color order and individual lengths programmable so each color can be repeated to populate multi-hole housings in sequence. Disabling the insertion module via program control converts the unit into a standard dual-head automatic terminal crimping machine.

Designed with a modular, flexible architecture, functional modules can be enabled or disabled for different production needs. Product changes require only replacement of the relevant crimp dies, vibrating-plate feeders and insertion jigs, minimizing downtime and reducing idle waste.

High-precision servo motors drive the wire cutting/stripping and translation mechanisms. The cutting blade uses a bi-directional screw structure for high stripping accuracy, and a servo-driven translation mechanism maintains wires in a straight orientation throughout processing rather than using traditional rotation—ensuring stable positioning and reliable handling of demanding wire-processing tasks.

The terminal crimping unit is integrally cast in ductile iron to ensure rigidity and consistent crimp height. Optional process monitoring includes a terminal pressure monitor and an optional CCD visual inspection system to verify appearance and dimensions after crimping. Operation is via a color touchscreen with intuitive parameter settings and program memory; an industrial computer control system with MES connectivity is available for remote parameter read/write, remote production tasks and centralized management to improve traceability and overall efficiency. Optional tail processes and configurations are supported, including insulation sleeve insertion, heat-shrink tube insertion, wire twisting and dip tin, as well as long wire conveyor, safety shield and servo terminal options.
